Gary has performed in the UK, France, Poland, and Germany. He hosts drum clinics in association with Zildjian International and Sonor Drums. In 1994 some of his students played at the Fairport Convention annual Oxfordshire CROPREDY FESTIVAL, Europe's largest Folk/Rock festival. Some of Gary's pupils have included Formula One racing drivers, accountants, surgeons, artists, chefs and journalists, as well as countless students of school and university age. Some of Gary's students have successfully gained entry to institutions such as BIMM, the Academy of Contemporary Music, and Gordonstoun, and one reached the final of Young Drummer Of The Year in 2000.

Gary's work has included and will continue to include workshops for people who are mentally handicapped, people who have special needs, young offenders, and people with dementia and all forms of mental health problems. So far he has worked with Mencap, Oxfam, Unicef, Lambert Special School (Stratford-Upon-Avon), HMP Onley (young offenders), Oxford University, youth clubs, primary and secondary schools (both state and private), and music shops. He hopes to expand this as much as possible in the future.

Mission statement:

My mission statement or goal in life is to bring to everyone the message of FUN WHEN YOU DRUM!, in particular life’s disadvantaged people. I have always felt blessed to have a god-given talent, and I wish to use this talent to bring my message of what learning to play percussion (with the focus on the drum kit) can do for anyone and everyone. Learning to have FUN WHEN YOU DRUM! has many physical and mental benefits, improving long term memory by up to 70%. Clem Burke, drummer for Blondie, has conducted a study that shows the health benefits on your heart whilst drumming in performance situations. It may sound strange but I feel that I am on a life-long crusade to bring the benefits of FUN WHEN YOU DRUM! to as many people as I can in my lifetime, and I hope this will endure for future generations. This will be my legacy.

Apart from my work with my own band I am always interested in new projects, so if you need a drummer-percussionist for recording/performing, or if you wish to book me for a drum workshop, please get in touch!
